go to whsmith, or your local supermarket.
get small format hair magazine (i think it's just called hair)
they will have a section called the good salon guide, and they will very probably have at least one salon in newcastle.
that's how i found mine in bristol, and they're fantastic :)

where abouts are you? it might sount cheesy but there great hair salon in tesco extra called the hair shop and just opened another in sutton london
