They weren't always called dinosaurs. it's more like leviathan or dragon. carbon dating cannot be trusted because it is so innacurate. You can't fault us for believing a Book that's never been proven wrong, while you believe a theory that's never been proven right.

[1] Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?
Pss.74
[14] Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

[29] I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.
Pss.44
[19] Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.
Pss.74
[13] Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.
Pss.91
[13] Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Pss.148
[7] Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:
Isa.13
[22] And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

Isa.43
[20] The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.
Isa.51
[9] Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?
Jer.9
[11] And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.

Jer.49
[33] And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it.
Jer.51
[34] Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out.
[37] And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwellingplace for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.

[7] And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
[9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
[13] And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
[16] And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
[17] And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Rev.13
[2] And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
[4] And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
[11] And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

There are some mention of creatures in the Bible which could only have been dinosaurs...as a matter of fact, dragons were mentioned...who's to say those weren't dinosaurs? Just an English word for an unexplainable large reptile eh? Leviathan, dragon, behemoth...
Pre-flood could easily have had dinosaurs around. How do you know Nessy isn't a survivor (if she exists)?
Chinese history is around 5000 years old...if you count the Bible time frame and add it to our time since then, that would be closer to 6000 years, if not more. No one alive even knows how long Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, before they sinned. So it's actually been about 6K years since the Garden of Eden eviction.
In regard to the dinosaur and dragon...ancient peoples had ways of expressing themselves which we might not understand. An ancient yet living language which dates to about 5000 years could be considered as a litmus test...in Chinese, a dinosaur is called a 'terror dragon', or 'kong long'.

A co-worker of mine told me dinosaurs were aliens who lived on another planet, and that planet crashed into our planet with such violence that it killed all the dinosaurs and scattered their bones all over Earth. The impact crater is the Grand Canyon, since that too could not have been created in only 5000 years. I wish he was joking. After asking several questions I learned that he came to this conclusion based on his belief that the dinosaurs couldn't be millions of years old because the Bible places creation 5000 years ago. So there you have it. Dinosaurs are aliens.

The Bible does not say that dinosaurs did not exist. It does actually speak of very large creatures. If it was important for us to know, then it is in the Bible. If not, it isn't in there. Apparently, because dinosaurs died out, and it wasn't an issue in Bible times, there was no need to mention it. The earth can still be 5000 years old, and dinosaurs could still have existed. I believe they did exist. How can one deny fossils? I do believe that archaeological dating versus Biblical recorded history are in conflict. That said, many people lived much longer lifespans in ancient times (Methuselah was 968, I believe), so who is to say that when God said the world was created in 6 days and the 7th day He rested, that to God, a day was not a million years? Time flashes in an instant to God - what is a great span of time to us is nothing to God. I think there IS a way to reconcile the scientific age of the earth to the Bible's recorded age. It really doesn't matter though, because it has no bearing on the things mentioned in the Bible regarding our relationship with God.

I have heard a few strange explanations for dinosaurs from people who believe the world was created only thousands of years ago. What really shocks me is that they haven't thrown a big enough fit to get the study of prehistoric creatures banned from being taught in science class.

Carbon dating is floored - large amounts of water submerging something for a period of time will make it seem older than it is, so perhaps the world was covered in water - maybe the noah's ark story?
alternatively, who says that the bible only says the world is 5000 years old, perhaps the 7 days of creation werent 7 days as we know them, but 7 periods of time, perhaps each is a billion years or so.

The concept of time and years isn't really that old and was man made so we really don't know how long time is to God...the world was created in 7 days isn't proven that they were seven 24 hour days...so if time is what you are using to disprove religion then try again. Plus carbon dating has been disproven so we really don't know how old dino's are.

people of faith aren't saying that the world is 5,000 yrs old. they are stating that their religion is 5,000 yrs old. a big difference there, isn't there?
one should read other religious books besides the modern day Bible to learn of its history. people should also remember that the Bible are only a certain number of books taken from the Jewish religion, and that Christians are missing a huge part of those teachings.

God did create the dinosaurs. But He took them out when the flood came. After the flood, and when Noah let the animals out God put the fear of animals against man, and man against animals.

I'd like to have seen Noah try to corral a few T-Rexes and such to put in the Ark... Obviously, he decided to give it a pass...

sadly, some of them say "God put those bones here to test our faith"....both sad, and hilarious. (And also a reason why it should be illegal to home-school children)
Please ignore "Proverbs" answer below mine. Dinosaurs are NOT mentioned in the Bible and he is using an extremely POOR AND PERSONAL interpretation of the Bible to say that it does.
