For some reason, they are putting on a "front" for your Mother.
That means they want something from her, perhaps just her good opinion. They also might not like younger people, for some reason, and it might not have anything to do with you personally.
Some people who are very pleasant and polite ALL THE TIME are creeps personally, anyway.

Most importantly, don't trust or depend on or "invest" emotionally in anyone except your mother or your own personal friends. Your mother is always there for you, even if other people like or dislike you. She is irreplaceable and unique and very important to you, so treasure her and enjoy your status as her child. Even when you are completely independent, and much older, your Mother is one person who really cares about you.

It means they're completely and totall FAKE. And you should talk with your mother about it. Tell her that her friend acts completely different when she's not around. Then take it up with her friend. Confront her with it point blank. My guess is that she'll act shocked and start back peddling. She'll smile and joke that she didn't realize she acts any different, then curse and swear under her breath as she leaves the room. At that point it's safe to say that you two will never be good friends, but at least she'll know that you have the guts to confront her. And maybe she be inclined to screw with you anymore.

It means this person is only trying to impress your Mom and is not being honest about their feelings. It might be a good idea to have a private talk with your Mom about it and let her know whats going on.

Good luck.

I had the exact same experience only my mom's friend wasn't just "nice"...she'd pour on the sugar and talk to me in a baby voice...she was in her 60's. I found out that she was a "sycophant". She would overly praise my mom because she thought she could get her way by doing that. She was nice to me in my mom's presence because she knew it was not wise to act as though she didn't like me...then she wouldn't get what she wanted. She's been deceased 2 yrs. now.

That whenever your mom is around she acts all sweet. but, when she's not around she acts mean to you. that might mean that she hates you a lot. Maybe, you should tell your mom. She isn't a true friend then if she does that to you espicially.

She is trying to get in good with your mom, so that means being nice to her kids. She probably doesn't mean to be rude, she just doesn't know how to act around kids either. You feel uncomfortable, so maybe she is just uncomfortabel too.

Well it means that he or she is trying to let ur mom know they like you but really dont. And when mom is gone they are mean to you.. I would talk to my mom about it and if she dont believe me I would have to ask that person what their problem is!

Means they are putting on a show for your mom...pretending to like you, when they really don't. Ignore it...not everyone will like you anyway. That's just the way life is. Exclude yourself from activities that include her.

if it's not too awkward, you should try confronting your mom's friend, and try to be friends. If that doesn't work then you should tell your mom, because she probably wouldn't want her friend to disrespect you.
