is it because your brain doesnt take in the memories or you just cant remember those memories

The chemical breakdown of the alcohol in your bloodstream continues after the blood has circulated through your major organs AND brain. That process damages cells all throughout your body AND brain. Those damaged cells break down and any function they provide or assist in is either greatly diminished or ceases to occur altogether. Memory is a function of your brain. Therefore, when you constantly drink to excess,and your brain is being constantly damaged, you are actually destroying your ability to retain short term information AND your ability to convert short term information you do manage to keep into long term memory...among other things...

alcohol interferes with the normal function of the cerebrum which is responsible for memory, learning, reasoning, judgment, intelligence, and emotions. This is caused by cellular dehydration witch means that that brain is not getting an adequate amount of oxygen.

sure wish I knew!! I have been told of things I have done and just wish I could remember!!! I think It has something to do with the alcohol inhibiting the part of your brain that has to do with memory.
