Pot can stay in the system for somewhere around a month, depending on how often you smoke. If you're an occasional smoker it will probably be flushed out in a couple of weeks. If one does a hair folicle test, it will stay in your hair for around 7 years or so.

ok first off don't listen to the person who said water, they don't know what they are talking about.

as some have already mentioned, the length of time can vary depending on how often you smoke. this time varies between 4 and 6 weeks.

THC attaches itself to lipids, so there really is nothing you can do to flush it out. do not listen to any idiot who tries to tell you otherwise. the ONLY way to get it out of your system faster is to exercise.

anything else is masking it (this is where traditional remedies such as zy-dot, water, etc. come from).

now with that having been said, most modern drug tests are no longer fooled by such measures.

your best bet for getting it out of your system is a low-carb diet with plenty of excercise.

Stop smoking, today! If you are reasonably healthy then it should be out by 4 weeks. They won't know if you smoke unless they specifically said they are gonna do a blood or urine drug test on you which doesn't make sense to do for surgery. Usually its only done when you get hired on to a job or are in trouble with the law for drugs. I wouldnt worry about it. It also helps if you drink alot of water and exercise since it is released through your body sweat. But like I said, I wouldn't worry if I were you.

6 to 8 weeks if youve been a chronic user. It cannot be flushed out.

30 to 45 days and I don't think you can flush it out. Maybe perspiring and drinking lots of fluid would help, but I doubt it.
