I've recently taken up studying Buddhism & I was wondering if Buddhists have any special kinds of tattoos? I know that mayans & other middle eastern tribes have special tattoos. Thanks

Some temples have tattoos in one of the Theravadan countries... can't remember which. They do sacred tattoos as a form of protection and such. There was a special on it on the Discovery channel... or TLC... can't remember. In general we don't have that thing in Tibetan Buddhism as part of the religion.

One thing to note, there's nothing against being Buddhist if you already have tatts... check out Noah Levine on Dharmapunx.com... the man is way more tatted than I am!

I really wish there were more intelligent questions on this site. I am so tired of the obvious "stir the pot, I need some attention" posts.
