Have never listened to him very much, but from what I do know of his teaching I think I am mostly in agreement with it. I think he is a pretty straight forward Bible believer.

Well... MacArthur has a calvinistic back ground... However, his views on dispensationalism are a bit "leaky". Furthermore, he appears to be a bit legalistic when it comes to his opinion of pre salvational works of righteousness which he asserts may be necessary for salvation.

He is an excellent Bible teacher- he preaches verse by verse. He is a great man of God, no question. If you are looking for a teacher of God's word, He is wonderful. If you also want someone that is personal with his congregation and has a huge pastor's heart- maybe not so much. This is not a negative about John's teaching.

I've never heard of him... I follow the teaching of Jesus. If John is a preacher who follows and preaches the love of Christ - then I say go for it.
If not, then there's a problem
Either way - he will face judgment just like the rest of us

I personally don't agree with some of his teachings on the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

His teaching is solidly Biblical. But as with any Bible teacher, it is merely an opinion. Read other teachers of the Scriptures, Broaden your mind.

I went to his church in Los Angeles. It was one of the biggest churches had ever seen. I guess his teachings are okay, but I don't think he's all that.

Who? He doesn't appear to have any connection to my church at either a local or national level...so I don't have any real interest in his teachings whatsoever.
