Chocolate contains a natural 'love drug'. Tryptophan is a chemical that the brain uses to make a neurotransmitter called serotonin. High levels of serotonin can produce feelings of elation, even ecstasy - hence the name of the designer drug that also works by increasing serotonin levels.

Yes, chocolate can improve your mood, especially if you are 'temporarily down,' simply the 'odor' of chocolate can lift your spirits. Dark chocolate is better than 'milk chocolate' and is also less fattening and has more 'antioxidants', but 'limit yourself' to only an ounce or two per day, because chocolate that is sweetened is also FATTENING. I use even 'dark unsweetened cocoa powder' in my hot coffee rather than drinking hot cocoa made with milk ... I can add a packet of 'no calorie sweetener' if I want it sweet, or simply drink it 'straight' ... and I don't do this very often, so that when I do it it is a 'real treat.'

I'm happy - er, when I'm eating chocolate...yeah...I would say that it improves moods. Whenever I bring fudge, or chocolate, in to work, everybody seems to be good spirits!

Yeah. Chocolate is made from the cocoa plant, which can also be used to make cocaine. When you eat chocolate you get a tiny high. Also, the same drug used to treat cocaine addiction helps chocoholics overcome their cravings.

No, it will take your mind off your problems. When under stress, humans have the natural instinct to pack on pounds (cavemen in a famine). This usually fills the persons depravity, but its worse on stress. Best things to do is to get out and exercise.

My guess is yes; i used to work in a health care environment with mostly female coworkers, and when i brought in chocolate(or eclairs), it usually made for a friendlier working environment.
