I've noticed that on Yahoo! answers, alot of you post very angry and/or antagonistic comments in the form of questions, to Christians. Why are all so quick to be hostile and defensive when you have no reason to? You ask a lot of questions that just hastily harp on our beliefs, or you ask about us indirectly..."The Bible is the biggest lie ever sold. Why don't Christians realize that?"...c'mon guys, was that really necessary?? Basically, I just want to know why all the fuss?

yep i wonder the same when i asked a question 'ARE AL CHRISTIANS THIS STUPID AND DELUDED' and most of them didn't read the question and started calling me names and they reported my question under ephites and slurs and i even said "no offense to good christians"

Because a lot of Christians make statements about how everyone who isn't a Christian is deluded, ignorant or just plain stupid. Non-Christians often have to listen to people tell them how they'll burn in hell, how they are without morals or values. That they are thoughtless and ignorant of their spiritual lives. Or how they shouldn't be allowed to teach or share their faith with their own children.
Wouldn't you find that somewhat hostile?
Would you react positively to it?
As a Christian do you like it when people call your beliefs deluded and ignorant? Or tell you that your children won't be able to deal with the "real world"? Do you enjoy people telling you how hateful, prejudiced and judgmental you are? That your faith is false and your God non existent?
Well, neither does anyone else.

I hate to burst your bubble but it goes both ways. This should be directed towards people in general. I will bet my paycheck that there are equally angry people of all religions as well as those without religion. In my opinion, it is just totally pointless to get all riled up at someone's ignorance and anger. Let them rant. If you feel the need to respond, then do your best to be as nonthreatening as possible. I don't have a problem in being firm in what one says but do it in a mature manner.

"Is it true 90% of Atheists are pedophiles?" Things like that?
Reality: there are trolls on Yahoo who post solely to antagonize, Christian and nonChristian alike.

Have you noticed the questions and answers around here that are just as bad the other way around? Or do you just have persecution shaded glasses on?

It happens to atheists too. Some Christian will scream, "YOU THINK WE CAME FROM MONKEYS, Y R THERE STILL MONKEYS!!!!?"
Then an atheist screams, "U N UR STOOPID BIBLE!!!PAY ATTENTION 2 SCIENCE, U N00BS!!!"
It's "stoopid." Why can't we keep our beliefs to ourselves? Why do we need to convince others that we are right? I'm agnostic and no one will ever change that. (Except with a really good arguement.)
And most of the people on here, monotheistic, polytheistic, and atheistic, can't supply one of those. You want some examples?

they are not really secure with the decisions they have made regarding God, and eternity. If someone is really secure in their beliefs they would not care what others thought.
You might notice that most the of Christians do not respond that way, it is the atheists.
