You can get it at Amazon in a special student package (http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Word-Home-Student-2007/dp/B000HCXKMQ/sr=1-8/qid=1170464906/ref=sr_1_8/104-0941067-6281515?ie=UTF8&s=software) but it's still over $100.00.

If you're in college, see if your college has a software discount program. Many have these, where you can get software either free or at a reduced price. Check with your IT group.

If you don't need to use advanced features of Word and just need basic word processing capabilities, try a free product like Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org/) or AbiWord (http://www.abisource.com/). This should allow you to do most of what Word does, and they're both open source and therefore free.

I think that the best buy is Office 2007 Home and Student Edition that goes around $ 128-150 and includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Follow the link:

Download open office it's free and you can open/save/edit MS Word documents. All it costs is the download time and its a great program. Can't go wrong with it.

If you are going to school, you can buy an academic version. You might try looking on www.pricewatch.com and see if you can find it there.
