If people were totally converted to Christianity, not only would alcohol and drugs and the like disappear, but so would the countless abortions performed every day and so would all the fighting going on right now. If all people were totally Christians, a whole lot of other people would be out of a job because crime would also be a thing of the past. It would be almost heaven on earth.I say Lord send the day!

If you're asking this question, then you really don't have the human quality of empathy, at least when it comes to this subject. My husband smokes, and I gently remind him constantly that he suffers from respiratory ailments more severely than I do and gets out of breath so quickly because he smokes. Sometimes he agrees and sometimes he gets angry and defensive. Only he knows when or if he will quit. I don't yell at him for not quitting, nor do I think him weak. He kicked alcohol 16 years ago and firmly understands why he couldn't handle it. Smoking is more insidious, and it can gain an even firmer hold before you realize what it is doing to you. Many sober alcoholics I know have never been able to kick cigarettes for this reason. I don't implore you to stop tooting your own horn. It is quite an achievement! But don't belittle those who have not yet made the leap that you have; it only makes them angry and works against your stated purpose--to encourage others to quit as you have.

Christianity is very popular, so is the subversion from within by high level clerics and their own violations of the laws they think should be forced on others. Christians already have plenty of people in an uproar. From the spelling police and atheists, to the agnostics and those who prefer freedom of choice over forced religion (be it Islam or Christianity). I think we have more than enough of the types of Christians that think they need to force others to follow their religious laws.

You know, when I was growing up, I lived in an abusive family with my father being a drunkard, and at nights when my mom used to tuck me into bed, we used to pray together and wish that there was no more drugs or alchohol in the world.
There was nothing worse than waiting for "daddy" to come home very late every night totally skunked out of his mind and then drag us children out of bed and beat us for nothing - which was only to this day now I understand, his own anger from which he was chained to the "bottle" ...
I believe through prayer and my faith I am still here today. So I believe Christianity should be not popular but of a faith of everyone... but that's just my opinion
Peace

The bible is becoming less popular every day. And yet, smoking is slowly becoming illegal.
What does that have to do with the bible? Seems to me its people waking up without the bible.
