What do you do when you see responses such as "Atheists are all pawns of Satan" and/or "You're going to hell. Repent, sinner"

Do you laugh about it like I do, or simply shake your head?
What do you think about responses like that?

I think about how their hateful words would shame Jesus back to his grave.

I would just admit I'm a pawn of Satan. People who think that aren't worth trying to convince Im a decent human being.

I laugh. Really if a see something like that on th Internet you think I'm going to see the 'error' of my ways. Some people are really stupid.

Well, I can't really laugh. I do shake my head. There's so much ignorance there. Atheists are just normal people trying to live their lives. That's it.

To each his own. Some people were not brought up with religion therefore have no beliefs in it. Others have had so many wrongs in their life; how can there be a GOD? It's up to the individual and others shouldn't push their beliefs on them. Like I said, to each his own.

Both. I laugh at the ridiculousness of it. Then shake my head in disbelief, wondering what kind of lives these people must lead??!

Then I usually feel pity for them. It appears their "god" is so powerless he can't stand up for himself. If these sad people are his best "recruiters", I'd rather go to hell!

I remind them that Hitler was raised a Catholic, learned his rabid antisemitism there and that he claimed (in Mein Kampf) to be doing God's work.

Then I tell them that atheists/agnostics are 50x less likely (per capita) than Christians to go to prison.

Then I tell them that the two biggest philanthropists in the world - Bill Gates and Warren Buffet - are both atheists.

Then I ask: "What were you saying about atheists, the devil and sin?"

That usually stops them cold.

I laugh. and I die inside a little bit.

I think generally athesists , are good people who are trying to help break the chains of a social slavery. Sometimes convinceing someone they are in chains is hard to do when from birth they are told those chains are their salvation and their inheiritance.

I make a little chalk line on my bathroom wall, right underneath where it says "YOU ARE GOING TO HELL HA HA." I ran out of room in my living room, so that's why I'm in my bathroom now.

It kinda bums me out because I don't go around bad-mouthing Christians just because I don't believe in their God (I even gave them the respect by capitalization).

Why should I concern myself about satan and hell when there is no such thing. I don't fear death so why should I fear empty threats???
