Your hair color has absolutely nothing to do with your level of intelligence. I am a natural blonde and my IQ is quite a bit above average. I also have plenty of common sense.
I am not sure why this stereotype is so popular, but I can take a guess. People are often attracted features that are less common. Blonde hair (natural blonde, anyway) is much less common than brown, so it used to be seen as a novelty that really attracted men. When hair dye was invented, many women dyed thier hair blonde because of this. However, back when hair dye and makeup first became popular, it attracted a certain type of woman, if you know what I mean (and movie stars too). As the years went on, many women that were very shallow and superficial continued to dye their hair light blonde and wear a lot of makeup. This was highlighted in movies and pop culture.
That's my theory on why blondes have earned the dunb/easy/ditzy label.

Blondes are not stupid people. Just like black people aren't dangerous, and teenagers aren't trouble makers. Some dumb person obviously wanted to blame his dumb moment on someone else and pointed to a blonde and said they did it, and refered to it as a blonde moment. It is a very common saying, and when people say they have a blonde moment, everyone knows that they just had a lapse in judgement. I personally don't think it's fair. But it's not like blondes are the only people who can be dumb. I know some horribly ditzy people, and most of them are brunette! Does that mean I'm dumb? no!! lol...kk, sayings like that are mean, and totally thoughtless, but some of these things, we just need to ignore, cuz they're always gonna be there, and people will always hate them!

I'm not entirely sure where the saying originated from, but I do know that I'm not stupid. I have my moments, as we all do, but I'm still getting mostly A's and two B's, both of which are my AP courses (not to brag or anything, sorry). But really, hair color has nothing to do with brainpower. It's all genetic, and it depends on what genetic code your parents have, and which parts of it were passed on to you. There are probably (only 'cause we can't know for sure) just as many blonde people who do idiotic things as there are redheads, brunettes, black-haired people, and every other color in between.

It is a steriotype. But some blondes are stupid. Maybe some blonde girls just want people to believe the steriotype and they didn't try and acted stupid ((shrug))

I think it is because a lot of babies and young children have blonde hair. People look at a blond adult and instictivly think they are not as smart.
