It wasn't worth the first 100 billion. If we spent the money developing alternative fuels, we wouldn't need those oil countries at all, that would solve most of the problem with Islamic terrorism too. Most of our chemists can't find work due to outsourcing, and this valuable resource can't find jobs at a time we need them to find alternatives to Arab oil most desperately.

-First of all, hopeful
'If we don't win this war you won't have to spend money on the US it won't be the US anymore. Why is that so hard to see? '
I think your logic is a bit messed up. Supressing Iraq would cost MORE in terms of hunting down everyone in the country who disliked Americans (can you imagine how long you'd be there?)
How exactly does not winning a war change the nature of your country? You've done it before, did you stop being the US then? does the country dissolve if Iraq drives off American troops? i doubt it. Iraq poses no direct threat to the American mainland - even using terrorists, they're unlikey to score any major hit. Any country with even a ragtaggle remains of government will spend money on itself, so i totally don't get what you mean.
-Now i've got that out my system, i'll answer the question. I'm not an American so i don't know what the hot issues are in your country, but i agree that a 100 billion is a ridiculous amount of money to throw soley at a single operation. - What are they spending it on?
Tackling inner city crime might be a good idea - The situation as it is now could end up with people afraid to go outside. I'm sure the money would be put to better use paying off foreign debt - might even put a dent in what you owe the Japanese (or close it completey- was it 6 billion or 600 billion you owe them?)

$100 billion?. Yes. That would make the Chinese jumping with joy. America's spiralling foreign debt, and enormous war spending. That increases the deficit further, and the more we owe the Chinese. If the war in Iraq goes on for many years, the deeper we sink in debt and the more the Chinese makes the profits.
Increased spending with no tax increase?. Oh boy, that would be debt. Fellow Americans, brace yourself for the hard times ahead!!.

Well, like Powell said, "you break it, you buy it". Leaving now would be a total disaster - I'm not thrilled about it either, but what choice do we have?
I think we should cut off funding to anyone here ILLEGALLY and spend that money on AMERICANS instead. And no, I'm not a racist - just don't understand the "logic" of rewarding illegal activity.
Even better, end corporate welfare - talk about a WASTE of money! Why in the hell are our tax dollars going to huge corporations, who make more in a year than most people will make in a lifetime? And don't say it's the Republicans - Clinton had 8 years to do something about it.

that is not any longer in basic terms Iraq! it is likewise Afghanistan. yet much greater that could be a stability of democracy interior the middle east to attempt to get Iran, Syria, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to flow to democracy to shrink/do away with terrorism world huge. selections are, spend one hundred mil there, combat there, or spend greater later and combat here at our borders and in our u . s . a .. Now you ask, is it nicely well worth the lack of existence of our infantrymen? My answer is to evaluate this occasion with murders interior the united statesA. Are murders ever going to end? Is it nicely worth what we pay for police, courts, DA's, Judges, prisons to attempt to shrink the variety of murders and placed across the killers to justice? Is it nicely well worth the lack of existence of our cops? If no longer, we could get rid of all of them and notice if the killing stops. I tremendously doubt it!!!
