Seems like a "faith organ" would be much simpler to design, as well as saving a lot of space! Then again, maybe He DOES want us to use our reason, instead of relying on blind faith!!!

There are two kinds of faith in the world. There is the interpersonal faith that people have in real people based on our real experiences. Then there is the religious faith that people have in supernatural deities based on experiences people hope and wish occured.

The notion that "god exists" is a conjecture.
The notion that this god wants you to act in a specific manner is a double conjecture, and was most likely fabricated by some politician who couldn't sell his own values except by trying to claim that a deity authenticated it and then offered a posthumously obtained brand of immortality as a reward for acting in that exact manner.

Reason would then dictate that we act responsibly by not using conjectures and scary superstitions to justify our actions, inactions and interactions. To do otherwise is just socially irresponsible.

Faith and Reason is not at opposite ends of the "Brain Spectrum". Look up the Vatican site and read the articles on Faith and Reason.

He gave us brains so we could learn to tie our shoes. The bible says God has given everyone a measure of faith. For your faith to grow, you need to get to know God through His Word (the bible). The bible says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. God loves all of us and wants to have a personal relationship with each and every one of us. He didn't make us robots, He gave us choice. He wants us to choose Him. That's why he gave us His Word.

I think you're right, that it is best to use reason to the extent that reason applies. However there comes a point in religion, science, philosophy, and life in general when you have to have faith and imagination if you want to grow..

That does make a great deal of sense...

And a faith organ would be such a space saver in the skull.

At least as I see it presently; logic is a foundation for faith in us.

Well without our brain our bodies would cease to function. We need our brain so that our bodies will function. You know it is actually an organ.

Ever thought that maybe he hoped you'd have brains enough to have faith?

Would you want your spouse to love you for who you are and freely of her own choice, or would you want your spouse to love you because she does not know any better, or have the mental capability to chose? Same reason
