I am a personal believer in repecting a man's religion as far as I would repect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children smart. What say you?

I like the way you put this. I agree totally. I may not agree that the man's wife is beautiful or that his children are smart, but who am I to tell him that what he sees isn't truth for him?

I believe all positive paths are valid... what I will not respect is someone who is infected with the disease of "my way is the only way" (my wife is the only beautiful woman in the world and all others are ugly and don't deserve to be treated well.. my children are the only smart children in the world and all others are stupid and deserve to be tortured forever).

I absolutely agree. I have no reason whatsoever to disrespect another man's beliefs. What would be the point?

Now, if someone else starts "witnessing" really fervently to me, and I ask them to stop, or just turn and walk away, and they just keep it up....what is that?

Then, its a matter of not having respect for the person; not necessarily their beliefs.

There's nothing wrong with religions; it's people that screw up the world, because they just can't leave one another in peace.

I respect them to the extent that they make sense.

Since most religions are hypocritical and self-contradictory, I have very little respect for most of them.

If a man stated that he had invisible wings that allowed him to fly, I would not respect that belief. Similarly, I do not respect the belief that an almighty creator God is going to work miracles on your behalf and send you to heaven.

I believe that respecting another person's religious beliefs means respecting their right to have their own thoughts, opinions and beliefs. I may not agree with their beliefs, but they have a right to have them and to speak about them, at least in America.

respect everyone unless that person harms any other. As for religion, same thing. If it harms others, it should be stopped.

I always have open ears for new ideas. Even if I don't agree, I wouldn't say anything but I would listen.

I feel everyone has a right to his own religion. I feel if God in his infinite wisdom chooses to give us the right to chose knowing some of us will chose the wrong way. Then who are we to take that away from someone.
What I resent is them telling me that I am an infidel and they are right and I am going to die. If i give them that right then they should do that for me. I don't mind someone kind sharing scriptures but this Muslim wrote you USA women are so selfish and need to die. I hadn't said anything to warrant that kind of response. I said, "My father wasn't domineering but kind and gentle. I want to marry a man like my father."

I will respect a mans religion as long as it doesn't bring fatal resaults onto me or anyone I love. This meaning Muslim extremest and other religions that would rather kill then live together

100%.....
but that does not mean that I do not tell them what the one. true Living God says about their beliefs.
folks can believe in or on whatever they wish.
it is no skin off my nose.
there is no reason to be disrespectful....
but many folks think being told God's Truth is disrespecting them or their beliefs.
not so.
it it just the Truth of the matter according to the one true Living God.
