When you first meet people they always put on their best behavior. How do you break through that and see if they really are good?

Don't pay ANY attention to how he acts toward you. Watch how he acts toward other people. Eventually he will reveal who he is by the way he treats others.

The men I've dated (and married) were a Scorpio, Capricorn, 2 Virgos, and a Gemini. The Scorpio I really liked but he could be manipulative and cold. The Capricorn was a nightmare, but family oriented and never forgot special occasions, the 2 Virgos were very attentive, considerate, and sweet, but deceptive and uncommitted, the Gemini was fascinating but diabolical. So based on my experiences with men, definitely the Virgos. However I would love to meet a gorgeous Leo as I'm sure we'd be great together. Still waiting.........

Does he allow people to walk all over him? Chances are if he's a "nice guy" he will let people treat him like a doormat, and if he doesn't care how people treat him, he won't be offended how people treat you.
Sure sign is if your in a restaurant and something is wrong with the dinner, he'll ignore it and say "it's okay". He may even give you a look if you have to complain about something not being right.

I would look and see his background. Nice guys usually have a lot of female friends, I've found. And his guy friends are also usually nice guys. But the only true test is a test of time. If you ask around, people who have known him longer and can give you true insight will help you. If he is overtly flirtatious (and not just with you) this could be a bad sign. A nice guy, also, will treat you and other women with respect. Keep your eyes wide open.

I have no idea cause they sure can change fast. Usually my first and second times with them is nice and then things start to happen and their true colors come out.

Ask questions, nobody can cover everything. Use examples, for instance, I know someone who did this or went through this. Then you sit back and wait for reaction, thats how you know someones true colors. Their answers and reactions will lrt you know every time.

He talks, "With" you. Not "at" you. He gives you space. And don't try to rush you into anything that you're not ready for. He doesn't make all of the decisions. And knows how a Gentleman should act.

I do believe that the first impression is always right, but nice guys usually hold the door for you, are willing to give up there seat to you, and they are very respectful toward you and your friends.
