I have this problem very often, but I work very hard to keep my grades up :) Here are a some things you can do:

~Study- Of course this is a basic way to learn. If you don't get much of the lesson that was taught in class, you might want to study any notes until you at least have a good understanding of the topic. You can also ask a friend to help you a bit.

~Ask parents/teachers to help you- I don't know about you, but I have very supportive teachers and parents. They help me a bunch when I need it. Also ask your parents or guardians if you can go to a type of learning center if all else fails. It's good to get extra knowledge anyways.

~Cut down on any "obsessions"- This method works with me. Distractions aren't very good when you're trying to learn, especially if it isn't school related in any way.

~Eat healthy- this can help your brain focus more and stay awake. I'm sure you've heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, right?

~Excercise- Even excercising can help you too. It works out your brain in the process. Plus you stay physically fit ;)

Good luck! I hope you find a way to improve!

Read your class material every day. What you remember one day to the next will help you retain the information in your head. As your teachers what you can do to learn the material better. Maybe it is as simple as changing the way you answer a question on an exam or the type of information you need to put into a paper. If you study an hour more a day than you current do then that will help. Also, make sure you are getting plenty of rest. Sleep does amazing things for us.

i learned when i was in college (wished i had before) how i needed to study to retain the info. unfortunately schools cant teach the way everyone learns which leaves alot of kids not meeting their potential. so you need to figure out what it takes for you. i have a feeling you can do alot better than an 88 average just because you care enough.

make a schedule
for example:
from 3h00pm-4h00pm: study math
from 4h00pm-4h30: take a break (it is very important)
4h30-5h30: English ...etc

Don't forget to take breaks it is very important
also, pay more attention in class try to participate
and try to be intrested in the subject

Keep up the positive attitude and you will go far. You will suffer if you have a bad negative attitude and tell yourself you can't. I pick a day to ignore my friends and family and I hit the books all day. I read, do homework, and study. One day a week, all day, it has paid off because I make all A's.
