In the New Testament, Jesus says it's the will of the Father that all should come to Him (be saved). But according to the Book of Revelation (and many Christians), a whole lot of people are going to wind up roasting in Hell instead of going to Heaven like Jesus said the Father wanted. Since Satan wants all those people to go to Hell, and they will, doesn't that count as a win for him and a loss for God? After all, God doesn't get what He said He wants, right...?

I think you missed to point. SATAN will be locked into hell at that time. He definitely loses that battle.

Actually, the Bible points out that hell was created for Satan and his angels. God would have all people saved but He knows that won't happen. The devil and his angels will eventually be thrown into the fires of hell. God's win was never in doubt.

The word "hell" is found in many Bible translations. In the same verses other translations read "the grave," "the world of the dead," and so forth. Other Bibles simply transliterate the original-language words that are sometimes rendered "hell"; that is, they express them with the letters of our alphabet but leave the words untranslated. What are those words? The Hebrew she'ohl´ and its Greek equivalent hai´des, which refer, not to an individual burial place, but to the common grave of dead mankind; also the Greek ge´en·na, which is used as a symbol of eternal destruction. However, both in Christendom and in many non-Christian religions it is taught that hell is a place inhabited by demons and where the wicked, after death, are punished.

God allows man to have a choice; whether man chooses Heaven or Hell is man's choice. As part of his temptation; Satan may provide an illusion that short term 'looks good', but leads to Hell long term.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

God wants everyone in heaven, but He gives us a choice. As a result of ppl's choice to reject God, they'll be punished for their sin in hell.

God could force everyone to go to heaven, I suppose, but that would defeat the purpose of having a relationship with us. A relationship is two-way, not just one person, or being, telling the other what to do.

Hell is not a place so much as it is a condition. The Creator can see fit to end that condition any time he pleases.
