Some people don't choose a "final" religion their whole lives. You believe something or you don't. It's not like choosing something from a catalogue.
Think about the questions that matter to you and the possible answers you are given. Think critically. If an answer appeals to you, perhaps it's in tune with something you believe. But it would be a horrible world if we all fell into line behind one set of beliefs. Whyever we are here, it can't be to be little clones of one another.

honey, we fight about that here all the time. Meaning us grown-ups can't even agree what is the best one. There are believers in a christian god here, some buddhists, some of every thinkable religion in fact, and then there are agnostics and atheists. All have different views on this issue.
So this one you are going to have to find out for yourself, and don't let anyone tell you what to believe.
But you're on the right path; there is nothing wrong with reading about and examining religions. There are a lot of different beliefs out there. If one is right are the others wrong? Or is it something more complex than that? Some people take years before they find or lose a belief.
For the record, I am an atheist; I don't believe there are any gods.

Who says you have to pick a religion? You have your whole life ahead of you to learn about the world. Don't settle now on any one worldview. Instead, navigate the world with a questioning mind, sound reasoning skills and a desire to know more.
There are no right religions. Religions are collections of beliefs. Mostly unfounded beliefs, or beliefs that have no solid reasons for why they are held to be true. You're young. You don't need beliefs, you need experience and knowledge to arrive at conclusions. Those experiences should shape your beliefs, not a book or priest or minister. Don't let anyone tell you what to believe. Figure out what you believe on your own. Figure it out using reason and logic.
I'm an atheist and have been since I was roughly your age. I've been vocal about it for the last 6 or 7 years.

You need to find a final relationship with a living God who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead. Religions grow up around the truth -- Jesus Christ Is the Truth. If you choose Him, His spirit, living within you, will tell you right from wrong, holy from sinful, and guide you through the trials of this world.
The world is daily more and more confused. Find a friend in Jesus and let Him put a song in your heart. Let the scribes, the pharisees and the mental giants do the research.
This whole universe is made up of nothing but vibrations. I am an old vibration that has gone through many trails to reach the song in my heart. You are a young vibration trying to find the song you need to sing. God took care of this long ago when the morning stars all sang together.
In your search always listen for the song ( the vibs as they used to say ). Does the answer produce a little tune or is it just discordant, dead or muted opinion. ---- "Well you otta do this and you otta look at that.......etc."
The Bible notes that God kindly grants wisdom to anyone who asks, if we ask! James 1:5. More important God has made the spirit of Christ to be wisdom for us. I Cor. 1:30.
You won't see wisdom in many people including Christians; but that does not mean God will not give you wisdom; and also make the spirit of Christ to be wisdom for you in your heart. Jesus Christ will be your purity and holyness also.
I finally turned everything over to Him and gave up my own petty efforts. He does not give you gifts -- He is the gift! He brings in everything you need, including a sweet voice and the song you were designed to sing.

By reading the Bible. It was an eminence help. I finally chose through realization, that there is nothing else out there, even tapping the surface. So I encourage you to read it. Start either in the book of Ephesians or in John. Great books. They are ones that really speak to me. May your walk lead you in the direction your heart longs to find.

Read all the religious texts as much as you can and do research. This will indeed help you. Decide for yourself and do not let anyone influence you. Your own mind is your own religion.

You have to follow your own path. That is the most important thing. Keep an open mind and don't fear change. Even if you stay within one religion your understanding of it will change.

You don't need one at all, you know.
Read The God Delusion - this book explains how religion works. Once you know that you'll want nothing to do with any religion, ever - you'll be saved from them all.
Email or IM me if you don't have a copy handy.

Avoid all religions and seek out God. Christ spoke against religion so why would you want to be a part of something Jesus is against.
My thumbs up to mainworry, great answer.
