I agree with the previous poster. I am sometimes shy and if I am attracted to a girl. I will look at a girl and then look away when she might look in my direction. He might not even look at you in the eyes when passing you.
If I was strong attracted to a girl, I would probably not engage in a conversation further than "Hi.". I suggest you smile at him when passing and then ask him a question like "What do you think of the weather?" or "Do you have any plans for the weekend" (if it is late in the week) etc. He will then be more comfortable with you and both can talk. You can then decide for yourself if he is attracted to you.

look in his eyes and if he keeps looking away
he talks with hand gestures or gets sweaty palms.

I Dont know,But theirs a shy guy I really like bit cant tell if heh like me either.I have the same problem

you'll know because he'll keep looking at you when he thinks you're not looking
if you like him, catch him looking at you, and give him a sweet smile back
then, later on, by 'coincidence' run into him, and engage him in conversation
this should give him the 'all clear' without sticking your neck out too far
if he cant take it from there, well, then he doesnt get the girl

what you should do is if you like them and they are shy go and talk to them and if they start comming out of their shell ask them to the dance and only focus on him if another guy asks you to dance say no becuz so and so just asked me and make him come with you.

Don't wait to find out.....try making him know that you like him and then he might have the confidence to ask you out. If he doesn't then you really don't lose anything....if you wait then you might missed someone that might have meant something to you.

i am really shy and all girls now when i like them when i always catch them staring at me to turn to stare at them
