My co-worker, is always talking to herself. And it can get pretty annoying at times. She's in her early 30s, seems normal other than that. She announces to herself what her next move will be. Can these be signs of a Mental condition or it's just the way she is?

She keeps to herself mostly, doesn't talk as much. I think she talks to herself more than she talks to others. I mean, it's not like she doesn't get along with the others, she jokes w/ them and all. Our company is very small, relaxed evironment, not too stressful. We all get alot great.

Well I think she does it, and thinks we'll answer her or start a conversation about whatever she says. But no one says nothing.

Well I have gotten to know her, now she's the the sharpest knife in the drawer, tends to be a little slow most of the times. Doesn't grasp to instructions too well.

Some people just talk to them selves, they talk and talk and talk and drive everyone up the walls except them selves. No the people who talk to them selves in the ordinary way that we all do from time to time is fine even excessively. There are how ever forms of psychosis and bipolar mental illnesses which cause the person to hear voices, see people/things that are not there or have delusions maybe that they need to narrate their every move.
Her withdrawal from social contact points out there may be a problem there, withdrawal from social conditions is a symptom that comes along with many mental illnesses which involve people talking to them selves (but like stated before not in the way people do from time to time even excessively)
One of the main illnesses which make people talk to them selves is schizophrenia, the people see things that may not be there or hear things become delusional and withdrawn from other people but it's best not to go leaping to conclusions.
Maybe try to get to know her a little, she could surprise you once you get to know her.

LOL I know a lady who is a very smart woman.. One day she was walking through the parking lot doing this.. She even laughed at herself and said, hahaha I am talking to myself!!..then saw me.. I never laughed so hard in my life..
Just repeat what she is saying back to her a few times and make sure she hears you.. Hopefully you can laugh about it some..

I don't think that means she's crazy... Schizophrenic people, the ones who babble, usually think they're talking TO someone. Some people have bad connections between their two hemispheres and need to say things out loud to function properly - but's that's really pretty rare and I think it's supposed to happen to mostly men.
That sounds really annoying, though... sorry!

I'd say it's something she's probably going through right now. She may have been lonely throughout her childhood or teenage years. I would give her time to recooperate herself OR you can talk to her, be a friend to her, ask her how's her day, and things like that. Sometimes, It really helps out someone when you talk to them.

Some people can think things through better if they say them out loud. So they talk to themselves. Some people are hard of hearing so they talk to themselves. Some are kinda weird so they talk to themselves, others simply do it to annoy others!

It is pretty healthy to talk to yourself, but to do it constantly that is definetly strange, but if she answers herself then there is a problem.
