They are lying if you are crying. BULLSH*T., they could not get a credit card in your name and are using your name without your permission. Now if they mess up on payments or charge too much and do not pay, I wonder who is held responsible?? THE NAME ON THE CREDIT CARD.
Then you will be hell to high water to clear up your credit. If I were you I would call the credit card company up and cancel it and tell them what is going on. You see, 6 months from now, if something goes wrong you will be liable. REASON, you knew about it and did not do nothing, thereby giving person for the person to use the card. So either way you are screwed.
Hmmm, can you give me your personal info then. I will have THREE credit cards and you will not be held responsible for the thousands of dollars I plan to charge in your good name. LOL

No, this is not right. This person is committing fraud and if he/she doesn't pay, the creditor will come after you for payment. If you really want to help this family member, make them a joint cardholder on your account, but don't give them a plastic (credit card) to buy things unless you approve. Otherwise, you are putting yourself at risk.

Start by asking your Great Uncle and other family members to tell you stories about your past relatives and from what you learn there find what information you can through your local historical society and historian.

Yes it can hurt you, That is considered to be fraud, you need to call the card company and you will have to press charges against that person, or you can do it civil and tell that person you want her or him to pay back the card and call it a day.
