no,
they are afraid that there is even the slightest chance that God does exist.
that would:
destroy their human pride in themselves and their perceived superior intellegence.
make them out fools.
and bring up the question of their eternal security.
they would rather just keep their head in the sand.....then there is no God.
"If I can't see Him, then there is no God!"
it is called the "ostrich syndrome".

NO we are not afraid of love. The bible also says that you can walk on water, but I haven't seen that happening anywhere lately. if the bible said that you were supposed to jump off of a bridge when you turned 35 would you do that, and would you say we were afriad of jumping off bridges? God is not love, Love is an emotion we feel for the people around us that make us happy.

Atheists are people who no longer need a hypothetical God or higher power to validate their existence. They have successfully found that they matter (that is, are subjects of interest) in this world by the give and take of love with other humans. I think the purpose of life, started when one is a wee child interacting with his or her mother, is a process of gaining evidence that we matter. If we fail to find this evidence in others we invent a person (God) to fulfill that role.
Many religious people can learn love from atheists because atheists are in general so much more successful in getting along with others because their whole meaning for existence is tied up in others.

Are you God-fearing? Then you must be afraid of love, because the bible says God is love.

The bible also says homosexuals must be killed and women should not presume to instruct men. If you plan to use the bible as a guidebook, better do some heavy editing first.
And no, I'm not afraid of love. But since I don't believe in god, it doesn't actually matter what the bible says about him/her/it.

You are assuming atheists are afraid of "god". Well, I'm atheist and I just don't believe a god exists. That isn't fear. Wuh.

What are you talking about? I love my family, and they love me. I'm not scared of love.
I don't care what your bible says. It also says not to eat shellfish, not wearing clothing of mixed fibers, and supports selling your daughter into slavery. Thats not exactly a loving, or logical god.

I think athiests don't really believe the bible because of the stuff in it is pretty preposterous, like people living for 9,000 years and the stars being created after the earth.

If the Bible is love, why do you seem to proselytize with the fear of God? Sex is part of love....why are Christians so afraid of sex?

Oh yes, atheists are terrified of love. We are also afraid of God, of course, that's why we don't believe he exists.
