Above answer is correct, however it is explained a little more clearly in your owners manual.
If you don't have one, I downloaded one here for you. I didn't know what year your Focus was (not that it would matter for programing your remote) so I downloaded a manual for 2003.

Owners manual - if that was even fitted to Focus in 2005 which I don't think it was. Remote central locking perhaps?

ok, this kinda is tough to follow, but.....
get in the car, shut the doors. put the key in the ignition and turn it from off to run, 4 times, then back to off. You will hear a slight ding, then press the lock button on all the remotes that you want to program to the car, you will hear another ding after each one.. Turn the ign back on, and you should be good to go...
