I was in the state of Alabama, at the wrong place at the wrong time. A drug bust, and I didn't go to jail and I didn't have a trial. I agree to a pretrial deversment, that if I stayed out of trouble that I woundn't have a felony. So they lied, Two years I had a felony and I wasn't able to get a decent job. So I called down there and told I shouldn't have a felony. Because I didn't have a trial or been to court.

If a background check yields a felony on your record, you have the right to contact the company that conducted the background check and find out the details: what court, what year, etc. Then contact the court and find out what it is. If they refuse to correct the records, and you feel they are in error, get a lawyer to file a case.

Not too sure about Alabama.....but if you go into their court docket website you should be able to type your name in and see the results. I live in Oklahoma and there is no fee for this here, but in some states there is a small fee. Or you can simply go to pac-info.com and search through there for around 14.99. If you are still having trouble, let me know and I will be glad to help.
