About 10 minutes after i purchased a 2006 Hoss (NEW) on E-BAY I come across some reviws of the bike, Each of theses reviews were great, however Over and Over I hear things like "Its a great bike for big Riders" "perfect for the larger guy" "finally a bike for big men"

Im 5'10" and weigh about 175-180 depending on what i had for breakfast, by no means a Large guy...These guys describe themselves as 6'3" 235 and even larger.....

Any and all info is helpfull. Please Respond..

Im new to the scene and dont wanna ruin the expierence before it begins...

Thanks

JR

It is a bike that is made for the Clydesdale Class - NORBA sanctioned anyway... But that just means if for your size, you want to do drag and drop, skate park runs, or urban rides, this bike potentially will hold up better.

Now for the BAD NEWS... If you follow my posts you will realize I'm a fact based guy. I hate hearing someone bought something new on Ebay... Truth is, with your internet money savings, it still leaves a bitter taste in your mouth about not having a warranty because of it... A LOT of people do not realize that when they buy the bike online, They have NO WARRANTY!!! This is true for ALL MAJOR BRANDS!!!

Please read that carefully!

if im looking at the right bike, this is a Kona Hoss hardtail. it doesnt matter if your 100lbs or 350lbs with a hardtail. they all react the same. your weight wont do anything adverse to this bike. people probably say that because its built very tough and can take the abuse of a lot of [excess] weight. just a tip too, you should prob read reviews before you buy anything that has the potential to kill you.

have fun

try the Kona Five-O, it's the replacement for the Hoss but has a slightly longer travel fork.

No the kona hoss comes in different sizes as long as you have bought one that you can fit on it will be fine. Mountain bikes are quiet forgiving on frame size. Certainly at 5'10" the largest 22" frame will not be to big.

Adjust seat height so that your leg can just be straightened with your ankle bent.(toes up). you will be fine
