If you want your tattoo shop to be a success....then you get the best artists around....I wouldn't even put flash up..... go with custom design only........lay out the artists portfolios and thats it........and if you're really the best then your prices should be ABOVE average. If a potential client walks aways because of your prices .....you probably didn't want that customer anyway. You are better off doing a smaller amount of high quality work .....than putting out ink like an assembly line....You want to build a reputation as a place to go for serious ink......do this and collectors will find you.
Food and drinks in an area where tattoos are being done isn't the greatest idea. I could care less about my artists attitude ......plus ..... my barber....my dentist.....my doctor don't walk me out to my car....why would my tattoo artist. Lose the certificates and giveaways......concentrate on putting the best damn ink in the world on your client's skin.....you will learn that people don't mind paying more if they are getting the best.....In my state all business are already supposed to be wheelchair accessible......The one thing I see on the list I like is cable...... I would put up a couple of big screens.

I personally care more about the sanitary conditions of the tattoo studio and equipment used and the artistic ability of the artist. Depends on that. My tattoo artist has tv's and dvd players for all customers but he only does custom work. Went to my particular artist because of his ink skill....
To address your points:
1. ok so you spend $80 and you get $5 AT McDonalds...not a big perk
2. Most artists I've spoken to greet me with a smile.
3. Good tattoos are not cheap and cheap tattoos are not good
4. If there are walls around all tattoo chairs....then would that necessarily help the person getting inked? I looked around at different things in the room when I was getting mine.
5. I bought my own
6. No, not necessary
7. I don't think that if someone buys a tattoo over $1000, a pizza is going to do all that much. The person will most likely be more involved at looking at their new ink to worry about their pizza. Also, do you really want your artist working on sketching out your tattoo and such...or delivering your pizza.
8. All buildings legally have to be wheel chair accessible
9. Depends on your artistic ability and your sanitary practices like I had said before.

It is pretty much a rule for tattoo artist to not tattoo minors with out both parents consent. A parent must also be present. For that reason, most will not work on a 13,14 year old.

Yes and no. Wheel chair accessable is good, privacy might good if it's an intimate tattoo, average prices are really good, smile and hand shake greeting is a must in my opinion!
My no's are in:
the mcdonalds ... I just don't like mcdonalds, nothing against people who do.
TV isn't so important to me, I'd rather be looking at a portofilio or pictures of other tattoos or magizines.
walking me out to my car ... meh ... not really too big with me
pizza delivery sounds cool but I don't know how that would work out.
snack machine ... again, just not my thing.
You have good points and some that wouldn't really matter to me. Sanitation, talent, and feeling right in the shop. Putting little additions is good once you have the basics.

I would only get a tattoo from you if you did a good job with the tattoos. I wouldn't get a crap tattoo just for a free pizza or mcdonalds. Plus I'd rather the tattoo artist not escort me to my car, that would be a little strange.

are yor artists clean, talented, and reputable, also is the shop clean. I need to know if I'm getting my moneys worth, and not scammed. Thats what it comes down to, are you good at tattoos. those things you listed are an added bonus.
I guess you don't appreciate the art of tattooing, you just in it for flash and money.

no. the comfort and convenience of a tattoo parlor has NOTHING to do with whether i would get tattooed there. the extreme talent of an artist is the only thing that would convince me to get tattooed by someone. i would honestly rather be tattooed in a.... kitchen by a talented artist... let's say nikko hurtado than to be in a comfortable inviting place with an average or mediocre tattooer. seriously, a pizza for spending $1000? if i wanted a pizza i would order one. some people would surely get tattoos there but not people who are serious collectors.

IF the place was clean & sanitary and IF they did good tattoo work ( I am not going to mark my body with a sh*tty tattooo just for a Mcdonalds coupon) Then yes I would be a client.

what the H does all that have to do w/anything. That's all surface glitter. The tattoo artist had better be clean and sober, the place has to be immaculate, he/she had better be a darn good artist! All that other stuff is nice and I'd definitely go for the pizza : ) But priorities please.

Hi, none of that really matters to me, I need to be assured that the artist doing your work is capable, clean & very experienced.... Do they have a portfolio that you can see??? I'm sure they are great perks but really, a voucher for Macdonalds or a pizza....?
The guy who did my armband did nothing but grunt at me... He resembled something of a caveman and smiling was defininately something he was not fond of but his work is outstanding!!!! Six years later I still get comments....
If you are not comfortable I advise you shop around.... :)
Good luck!
