2. Tide pools at the Montage hotel-beach is open to the public
3. Walk around Balboa Island and take the ferry to Balboa Peninsula
4. Swap meet at Orange County fairgrounds
5. Irvine Spectrum on the weekend-outdoor mall with restaurants and Improv etc...
6. Seal Beach for windsurfing and breakfast at Old Town Cafe
7. Huntington Beach boardwalk-ride your bike, skateboard, rollerblade or even walk
8. Ocean Institute Dana Point and breakfast at coffee importers
9. the lab on bristol-restaurants, cafe, shops-called the anti-mall

What is it you want to do?

Some of my favorite things to do over the years:

1. Rollerblade on the Hermosa Beach strand, stop at an ice cream place and get some "shave ice".

2. Watch the Ducks(hockey) at the Arrowhead Pond (think it's now called the Honda Center) or the Kings at staple's center.

3. Eat at the seafood Restaurant on Los Alamitos & Katella (forgot the name...Fish Company, something like that)

4. Walk around the Redondo Beach pier

5. Go to the Observatory in Griffith park (you now need a reservation, they just re-opened)

6. Shop at the Del Amo mall in Torrance (and the Border's books next to it)

7. Drive on Mullholland Dr. or Topanga Canyon Blvd at night and see the city from above.

8. Spend a few hours at Farmer's Market (3rd & Fairfax)

9. Walk on Hollywood Blvd.

10. Go to Santa Monica place (the streets just near the beach & Wilshire Blvd.) on a Friday or Saturday

11. Get some soft tacos (used to have to go to East L.A., virtually anywhere has them now)

12. Catch a Musical, lots of places you can go, there's a place in Tustin (Elizabeth Howard) that feeds you too.

13. Disneyland has gotten a lot more crowded and expensive, but everyone should go at least once anyway.

14. Eat at a "Jerry's Deli". They're open 24 hours which is good because it will take you that long to decide what to eat from that menu.

15. See the mountains, the valley, the desert, the snow and the beach. I'm not sure I've ever done it all in one day, but you can....and still have time left over for 1-14.

Southern California covers a huge territory--it starts at part of the Central coast--near San Luis Obispo/Monterey and goes all the way down to San Diego...it depends where you are...beaches are wonderful of course, theme parks--Disneyland and Knott's berry farm...Aquariums in Long Beach and Monterey...good restaurants throughout--LA of course..Universal Studios..There are many places--Okay--I just noticed you live in OC...Hmmm..The Block (in Orange)--with stores and 30 theaters and a skate park--Irvine Spectrum(in Irvine)--outdoor mall/shops with theaters, Newport Beach (fancy restaurants), Balboa Beach, Huntington Beach Pier and downtown--with a farmer's market every friday and live music on the weekends--sometimes..., Laguna Beach (Festival of the Arts , Pageant of the Masters)--basically, the beaches...South Coast Plaza (an upscale mall in Costa Mesa), Fashion Island (an even more upscale mall in Newport Beach), just drive along the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH)--it's beautiful, Anaheim Pond, Performing Arts place in Costa Mesa--near the mall--I forget what it's called...

Good Luck--OC is terrific...

There's a place called Dromo 1. It's a indoor go kart place. It's in Orange County. It's pretty fun. I've gone there a few times. It costs $25/person. Here's there website for more info: http://www.dromo1.com/. Also FYI, if you could get some of your friends to go, book a private party to reserve the place for yourself for about an hr.

Go to Newport Beach. Visit the shops and dream about being rich. Go to the beach and walk hand in hand through the sand. Take a picnic lunch that you prepare before you leave home and sit in a park or on the beach and eat and laugh and talk. It dosen't take money to have fun. It takes a zest for life and enjoying the company of your friend.
