i am on the school's sweetheart dance court automatically because i am the parish (im from louisiana, i think its called county) student of the year. i am too embarrassed to ask anyone, but what all do you usually do if u are on court?

Okay waitin' the best advice I can think of is for you to start looking around. You don't get to be student of the year without friends. While you are looking, check out the guy who holds your eye just a little longer than a buddy. Or take a buddy. There is a guy out there that really wants to go to this thing with you and is too shy to ask you! Ask your girls, who do they think you should ask? Is there someone on your student council that would be fun to go with? I know you are nervous, but hey, this is a big deal. You want to go with someone that you like and will have a good time with. Even if it isn't someone you would necessarily date. The object is to have a great time and not look bad in the year book. Best of luck Sweetie, and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Be proud. Nana

Try this line: I'm the student of the year and if I like you enough I'll support for the rest of you life. Want to go to the dance? (Actually, the last part will probably do.) Figure out who you want to ask and just blurt it out. They will feel complimented, besides they might want to ask you, but they are too embarrassed.
