Global warming is big news now. We can help by using light colors on buildings, roof tops and wherever it is feasible. We should eliminate black asphalt in parking lots and use pressed gravel and clay. This is used in some cities already. Black asphalt has poor emission and poor reflectivity. It heats the air, pollutes it and contributes to higher electric bills to keep cool. Another is Thermal Heat Island Syndrome. This means in the center of towns there is a lot of black surfaces that absorb the heat and slowly emits it into the atmosphere. Chicago in the year 2000 had over 2000 deaths because of this. Now they have changed from black to light colors where possible. I ask everyone to make an effort in doing this. We can stop global warming or slow it down by doing the right thing. Thank you.

If you figure out the total area of the Earth covered by Asphalt you will see that it would make no difference to Global Warming. Most of the Earth is not covered by Asphalt.

However in cities, a lighter colored Asphalt would certainly be a good idea and make the area locally cooler.
