If the U.S.A. and China (or any other nation for that matter), refuses to act on global warming, wouldn't it be reasonable for those of us with a concience, those who care about the kind of world our grandchildren will live in, and those of us who are trying our best to follow a 'green' lifestyle to boycott all goods and services from the offending nations?
Wouldn't this make them sit-up and take notice and eventually get something done about it!?

There are many Amerians (including me) that wish our government would do something about it, too, and you'd be hurting them as well. Americans who don't think it's real would just be angry with the boycotting nations instead of making them want to call for action. I think education is the best way to make a change, and also hopefully the end of the bush administration will see a change in action as well.

It would make sense to do that. But first we have to figure out which services etc we'd boycott. A lot of the financial institutions are owned by American companies, so would we have to stop paying our credit card bills? And what about the countries who are too poor to do anything about global warming but are dependant on trade with us and others for their income? Wouldnt it be immoral to boycott them?

China and India are such notorious polluters scientists they refer to the air they infect us with as "the brown cloud of Asia". They received a lifetime dispension from Kyoto which seems to greatly belie the franticness of the debate. At one time various kings ang countries would have boycotted each other over eugenics, alchemy, and the flatness of the world. Why do we progress at such brain-numbing rates?

First you'd have to prove that global warming is a concern and is actually caused by humans. How about rephrasing the question about countries that refuse to cut down on pollution.

Do whatever you feel will help. Crippling our financial systems may not help.
