I get that it has something to do with cell phones and allows people to walk around looking like they're talking to themselves all day (thanks a lot, technology- now I can't tell who's a crazy or a businessman), but I don't quite get how it works.

Thanks.

Blue tooth is a wireless technology that allows tech devices to communicate with each other over distances of about 5-15 feet. It is used in cell phones for hands free sets and also in computer mice and things like that. Essentially, one piece transmits a signal that the other receives and thereby the one piece "knows" the other and you can use them together.

Bluetooth is actually just a form of wireless connectivity that pairs up two or more devices. It is most popular with cell phones. Dont worry, its just one of those electronic fads will dissappear in a couple of years.
