Amen and AMEN! I agree 100% it is the grace of God through faith that saves us- only God can do it- and what you said in your last line, is exactly what I say, we do not know who God will draw or elect so we must continue preaching the word, in and out of season as it also says in the Bible. But if one does not want to hear it, we move on from them....shake the dust from our feet!

A parable to consider is the sowing of seeds. Our seeds of thought will grow for some but not all. The seeds are not the sacred things!Use Jesus ministries as your example .He came for sinners and using the logic you started with that could never have happened Mathew would never become a disciple .The woman at the well would never have introduced a whole village of people who held her in contempt to the messiah. David would not be a man after God's own heart. In regard to your last sentence Grace comes by faith and that is a gift from God! He says so,and he can give that to anyone at anytime.Your message to any one may cause that occurrence to happen between God's spirit and that person' s."Preach the gospel to every creature" P.S. don't tell em your preaching, just speak the truth and the truth will set many free.

Losing faith in my religion was very depressing. I was born and raised LDS, but I didn't always believe it until I was 19 yrs old and decided that the church was true, and that I should be a missionary. Well, I did that and being a full time worker for the LDS church taught me a lot about the history of the church. I realized on my mission that the church was not true. It was devestating. I had previously believed in it 100%. I was sure it was the truth about the world and the universe. God ruled and he lived near Kolob. Learning more about it, though, I realized that it wasn't truth. Joseph Smith was a con-artist. And I didn't know what to believe about God. I have recently, after almost ten years of depression, come to the realization that God is a myth. The Bible is myth. Adam and Eve did not exist. The tower of babel is just a story. Science has made life better. Religion has made it worse. Life is slowly getting better. I'm coming out of the depression. But, the economic crisis isn't helping. Is this God's punishment? I'm sorry if this is my fault everybody. Kidding.

Yes I often feel like I am casting my pearls before swine. I refuse to do this if I am in a room with just a couple of people. If they are not listening I shut up because their is not much point in talking to a brick wall.
While on the Internet it is different the person I am talking to might not be listening but hundreds, maybe even thousands have a chance of reading my words and excepting them.

That's all that you can do. You know in the beginning, when you've got that glow and you feel that you can take on the world you do it, for real, true, altruistic reasons. After a while you're doing for all of the wrong reasons because of your own ego and because you're in competition with others. The only real thing that a person is going to see is your life, how you're living, how well life is treating you. Who is going to listen to you and things aren't going well for you, at the same time, if they hang around long enough to see you go through some stuff and emerge victorious it may give them the motivation to change themselves.
It is so easy for us to isolate ourselves out of fear that we will digress because we're not strong enough to live right in this world. But you'll never learn anything that way, and you certainly aren't going to get the message across to anyone that way either. If someone sees that you refuse to do certain things, not out of principle, but because you know for yourself that in the long run it isn't right for you that will make an impression on them. It's like when you were young and were told not to do things but didn't understand why, now you can look back and see why for yourself. So how much are we going to trust what God is telling us not to do, how not to live, or are we consumed with telling someone else to accept him and live a certain way when we're not completely sold ourselves. There's two sides to casting your pearls before swine; someone may not be ready to live right, but you may be trying to absolve yourself of your own feelings for wanting to do so yourself.

Most Americans should understand that Jesus Christ and his apostles did not preach the gospel to anyone but Jews, Jesus for-bed them to speak to any other nationality he chose Saul of Taurus, apostle to the Gentiles, and his was the rest of the world he wrote more -traveled farther- and spread the word to more nations then the original 12 together.
We are the dogs, Gentiles, that was spoken of by Jesus but said we shall turn to the light, Spread the new to those that will receive and those that would not move on.

Yes, you are absolutely accurate. That is why I am considering leaving Yahoo Answers and Questions. The only reason I stay on here is to try to help people save their Souls. I pray everyone can know and love God. It saddens me to see, that when the Christians cast their Pearls on Yahoo, it is truly eaten , viciously by the examples you mentioned. My time here is like a challenge with satan. I am amonst non-believers and possibly we need to make an exit to not be exposed to this anger and mockery. After so long, we need to disassociate with the opposite of God.

I've definitely figured out that I have been. Of course, I'm an atheist, however. But it's become quite clear to me that some people are simply beyond rationality and logic.
The difference is, the atheist "swine" can back up their side. We have reasons for not believing. We have facts. We have science. We have history.
The religious "swine" have nothing but a refusal to consider other options. There is absolutely nothing to support the idea that one religion is the correct one, or that a god even exists.
Personally, I think the swine that makes an informed decision about his beliefs is better than one that believes something based on nothing but willfull ignorance.
Edit - I'm sure I won't get best answer for this... but for what it's worth, I sure hope "Goofy" does. Bravo, sir...

A dog could care less whether his food came from the altar or the garbage can. The swine have no appreciation for the beauty and value of pearls, and would simply trample them under his feet.

The reason for telling us not to cast our pearls before swine, I believe, was to warn us what would happen. If that does happen then we shouldn't go out of our way to tell a person who does not want to listen the truth; which would be casting your pearls before swine. We do however have to invade the devil's territory. That's what we're doing here in this "arena." In fact, invading the devil's territory is what it means to be a Christian.
