No the man doesn't have to be older. It's just traditionally thoughts of better because most women mature faster than men. But these days we always break sterotypes.

Let's look at this- the man is meant to "look after" the woman and biologically men mature later than women. Meaning that a man ought, by those facts/traditions be older than their female partner, yes.

But I have a husband who is exactly a year and a half younger than I am.

:-)

And we note no difference at all except that I will get my pension a full year before he gets his- MWUAHAHAHA!

BUT- there is a different school of thought- a man hits HIS physical prime at 18. A woman? 30. So- perhaps we ought to see more 18 year old men with 30 year old women...? Just a thought for discussion!

NOT AT ALL! If 2 people want a realationship, feel fond r love, care, and respect each other, what makes that wrong? I think it's
a wonderful feeling to find a woman u love, numbers don't count
in this category. Have you told her yet or think it's too soon? Well
the feelings maybe mutal, & or she knows. If it were a substanial
amount of years I'd worry for u that she may be taking advantage
of you in many ways, one inparticular like sex then break r heart.

My sister is 6 years older than her husband.

My boss is 10 years younger than his wife.

One woman I work with is 22 years older than her husband and has a son the same age.

Another woman i work with is 8 years older than her husband.

Who gives a crap. Age doesn't matter unless you are waiting to drive or go to the bars. After 21, it's just a number.

My parents were married for 49 years and Dad was 1 year younger than Mom, it is the two of you and how you deal with everything in the relationship that counts not looks, age, or anything else! My opinion.

My wife is over 2 years older than me and we've been happy together for over 30 years. So I can say without any doubts that age doesn't mean a thing, it's about more important things that maybe can sumed up as love.
