0 gallons of diesel. ethanol is made from corn, syrup, or starches. it cannot be made out of diesel. ethanol is bascially liquor with a few added ingredients for use in cars.

Ethanol is a form of alchol. diesel is a heavy fuel oil. So they're 2 different substances & they's not alike & dont mix with each other. They're even more diferent than gas & diesel fuel.

Are you talking about the heat/energy needed to make ethanol? With all distilling there is energy used. How much per gallon I don't know.
