No. Everyone who dies goes to the same place - the spirit world. There are at least 2 sections of the spirit world. There is "paradise" as referred to in the Bible, and there is "spirit prison." Spirit prison has more than one section. Paradise, or the upper level, is reserved for those who have repented of their sins and have progressed in the Gospel to the point where they are called upon to help teach others. Spirit prison is not anything like the prisons on earth. It would be more correct to say it is a place where travel is more limited. Among other things, it is a place where everyone gets to keep learning. This is what I can tell you from countless Sunday School lessons growing up. At some point in time, after the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, there will be the Resurrection of the Just (first one ) and the resurrection of the unjust (second or later one), and during the Millennium under Jesus Christ's reign, everyone will get to "catch up" on anything they need to know about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Then there will be a Final Judgment and the earth will be "renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory", and what everyone has done in mortality will result in being rewarded with the level of existence which their spirits are most comfortable with. Those who have elected purposely to follow Satan all of their days without repenting will be assigned to that level of existence (hell, or as we call it, outer darkness). If they repented to an extent there is another level of existence possible for them. We believe there is a telestial, terrestrial, and celestial level of glory. Celestial would be the same level Heavenly Father would reign over, and it is where you can continue to live and grow with your family and new family members as well, much as life exists here. At some point in time those who have continued to grow and develop may assist with God in His creation (that is where the planet idea comes into play, but nobody gets a planet when they die). In fact, the odds are most of us helped with small assignments before our own world was even created. We believe in a premortal life, and we were all excited to come to this earth to keep learning and growing (the second estate, or stage of education, with the same spirit we had before). Hope this helps. Have a happy day, and I send you a virtual gummy bear.

I will be honest (as a Mormon), that I don't think the doctrine is very clear on this subject, but is often left to the interpretation of the individual. This is why you get many people (often those against the church) who believe it is true that we will have a planet of our own. What we do believe is that we can be married to our spouse for all eternity, and that if we do, and are righteous, we will have the ability to continue to progress and will also be able to have spiritual children. What this encompasses is difficult to comprehend, and what becomes of those spiritual children is another interesting topic. Because they are spiritually creating life they are like God, and thus they are often called gods, but they are never greater then God, who will always be our Eternal Father and the Supreme Father. Hope this gives you some idea of what we believe. And, like I said, you may get individual interpretations on this, because it's religion. I respect all faiths, because religion is just that...faith.

It's interesting to note that the non-Mormons have all answered "Yes" to your question, and the Mormons have all answered "no".
This idea that Mormons expect to rule over their own planet is from anti-Mormon literature. Basically, we Mormons believe that as children of God we can progress and grow and become more like him. Anti-Mormons have speculated and extrapolated and decided that we actually believe we will become God. Not so. And "The God Makers" is a slanderous film littered with falsehoods, misunderstandiings and outright deliberate lies. I used to be anti-Mormon - I know.

NO! We do not recieve our own planet. When we die, we believe that we go to either Spiritual Paradise or Spiritual Prison(hell) until Judgement Day. Then we either go to the Celestial Kingdom, Terrestial Kingdom or the Telestial Kingdom.(listed in rank highest to lowest.) In order to get into the Celestial Kingdom we have to get married in the temple. If we don't get married then we go to one of the other two Kingdoms.

It is true that worthy Mormons hope to become God on their own planet. This is the way that God got here they tell us. Will they tell you that? Not unless you ask the right way. The president of the church has said that some people who ask questions do not deserve to know the truth.

the bald one possesses the truth, one is not god of anything, for the theory of god being omnipresent and omnipotent shall extend in belief no more.
God is not a child who has received a gift, a toy universe to his own desires please.
......or is he?

no. They simply believe that they will meet all the ancestors, so they are nuts about genealogy, and will baptize their ancestors into the church lol, which is great if you are into Family history, you just go and peek at their huge archive in Utah, its bigger than THE cia'S DATABASE LOL

*Yep, sure do. I do not know if it is still around, but in the 1970's there was a documentary detailing their beliefs, called the God Makers.*
