My friends have finally talked me into going to GR. However, the dance is tomorrow, and the only dress I have I wore to Homecoming three months ago. I don't really care, but my mother won't let me go and I need to convince her that it really doesn't matter.

Sure it is OK, really OK, the boys won't care, some girls might notice, but who cares about that? As long as you are OK, that is all that matters. If you wish, try different accessories with it, or put a coordinating shawl over it.
Sometimes it is possible to take a dress to the dress makers, and have it redone, but it would depend on the dress. A very plain dress, that was body-hugging would have no chance, a ball gown with lots of frew- frew on it would. You certainly do not have to, just a suggestion, so you are aware of all of your options.
A daughter who wants to save money and wear the same dress? Unheard of! Mom should be proud of you. I would! Have a good time!

I would tell my mother that your friends want you at the dance not the dress. I think that you are quite mature not to be demanding another dress. Maybe your mother would be okay with your wearing the dress if you wear different shoes, earrings, or such. Ask you Mother why she feels this way. Maybe she doesn't realize that it is okay with you.
I can't see any reason why you can't wear the dress. It was three months ago. Is it the same type of dress the other girls will be wearing. Maybe she thinks it will be too dressy. If so, then try to dress it down with a sweater or wrap.

You could dress it up with a wrap or a little stole .wear a different pair of shoes ,bag, jewelry, try a long flowing scarf to give your dress a romantic touch. Why doesn't your mum want you to go?Try your hair in a different style because it would give your appearance a different edge .Remember its the person that counts ,but clothes maketh the woman just be yourself and be happy.

Yes, it's okay. The boys definitely won't remember and the girls probably won't either because they're so concerned with their own outfits. The important thing is that you feel comfortable and have fun, so if it doesn't really matter to you then explain why it doesn't to your Mom. If she still is making a big deal out of it, tell her she needs to take to you the mall tonight to go shopping!

Well, the problem seems to be your mothers and not yours. It doesn't make sense to deny you participating because of a garment. But, Moms is Moms and if she feels it's an embarrassment to wear the same dress again you respect her opinion and let it go. There are more important things in life to deal with.

Of course it's fine! Unless you're rich or a snob or something. You should know, dresses are like'matching shoes' ...guys really don't care. So unless youj're going there and dressing to impress other girls, don't give it a thought - just go and have fun!

it's fine to wear the same dress. i wore the same dress to two different proms in one month. (one at my school, the other at his). then the next year i wore a new dress to one, and borrowed my friend's dress for the other. so for 4 proms, i only had to buy 2 dresses. i cant imagine why your mom would be so fussy about it.

It all depends on you.....as for me I wouldn't care .....some people worry about what other people may think of them but as for me who cares!!!!!! If the dress is clean, you are clean, go for it and enjoy yourself. A school dance is for dancing and socializing. It's not a fashion show @ least that's what I think :).

Absolutely, I wish my 15 year old daughter thought like you! You sound more mature than your mom. It's about the fun memories from partying with your friends. Tell your Mom she can put the $100 in the bank!
