Unpleasant behaviour and lack of courtesy is caused
by a lack of knowledge any where, and from any one.

The drunk who glared at you has no idea that you
own your personal space. Neither of those drunks
know nor understand that they can be drunk in their
space. They've no right to be near you if you don't
want them there. They lack the most basic knowledge
that other people own themselves, and have the right
to exclude

This has a lot to do with the smoking ban. Only the person who owns the property should be allowed to
include or exclude smokers, drunks, either or, or both.

The idea of "public places" or "public property" is one
of the causes of this problem. Those drunks thought
that your breathing air was part of their space. The
drunks were wrong.

You shouldn't wait for the time when "they" ban drunks.
You know that you have the right to protect yourself.
That includes the right to exclude drunks from your
personal space, and not be near them. That is really all you need to know.
A quick slap will teach any drunk who doesn't believe it.

First, I'm sorry you're so sensitive to alcohol :(

But still we can't ban everything that *some* people are sensitive or allergic to; then we'd not be able to eat anything in public, no nuts, no alcohol, dogs couldn't be out in the street (people would have to brush themselves off entirely before going out if they own a pet), perfume or deodorant would be forbidden... Would you really want to live in a world like that?

I agree with anti-smoking bans because that has been proven to be very unhealthy to everyone, and being drunk is already against the law if they're obnoxious doing more than just smelling bad, but I truly don't see how we can ban everything *some* people are allergic or sensitive to without taking away all personal freedom. Be happy he was at least taking the bus instead of driving, that would have endangered everyone, allergic to alcohol or not.

I favor banning smoking in public places and the stench of beer on people at the bus stop. Yuck to both.

Soon they will try banning us from smoking in our own homes.
The excuse will be that very time we open our front door, or a window, we will be letting smoke out into the atmosphere.

Truth is...all of us will be dieing from the polluted atmosphere of progression that the greedy money makers get rich from living in.

Humans have smoked for centuries...What's the big deal now?
Could it be because they expect future generations to be dropping like flies...Due to the poisons they put in the cigarettes and knowing that inhaling that poison is just as bad as smoking it?
Are they just trying to cover their tracks?

I would rather smell smoke than the stench of alcohol.
You have a good point.

Yes, they're banning smoking in public places near where I live and it's about time! I'm so tired of smelling cigarette smoke when I'm at soccer practice in the great outdoors!

I'm more upset when all the night clubs & bars go non-smoking!-when I drink, I gotta smoke, & I can't step outside several times! It sucked when the restaurants went non-smoking but that's understandable cause of families & kids,

The same thing happens to me when I'm sitting down and some selfish cigarette smoker plops down to force their poison in my lungs and I get up and move away. People just don't care whether it's alcohol, cigarettes, or drugs!

Public drunkeness is already a crime in a majority of areas. If you see such a person, simply call the police.

Exactly!! There are more alcohol related deaths than smoking...people talk about 2nd hand smoke but what about 2nd hand booze...when drunks go out fighting etc.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not against alcohol but surely a bit of everything in moderation.

Second hand alcohol HAS killed a lot of people!!
