My boyfriend lives in Wisconsin. Is it smart to have a long distance relationship? Or should I let him go? I mean, we can call eachother and email or whatever, and we visit eachother about between 2 and 4 times a year, should we stay together? We REALLY love eachother and he really cares about me. Email me at this email address, Samm_Levi and I will tell you some TOTALLY cute stories about us together, or we can just chat. Thnx to everyone who answers!!

We are not old enough to get married or travel alone. We are in High School. He lived here since preschool, and moved away in 4th grade. We have been together for a while.

1) How old are you? If you're older than 22, you'll find more time to get together than just 2-4 times a year. That isn't a relationship. That's a friendship over the miles. To make a LD relationship work, you EACH have to make efforts to see each other. Two-four times a year is fine, but it's not enough to build a friendship. Though you met online and that's great, an online persona doesn't really let you know who that person is or how is acts in real life.

2) Where do you live? Does he try to see you at YOUR location?

Like I said, relationships aren't built to survive anything through emails and phone calls. Try human interaction. Before you set the wedding date, but honest with yourself. If you're younger than 22, I would suggest holding off and just being friends until you both are able to emotionally and financially support a LD relationship.

I started a casual dating relationship with a guy a several months back, we only saw each other once a week, but emailed and chatted online all the time. Now it's love and you know that taking your time and getting to know one another is the best thing for a relationship. You can see each other everyday but if the communication sucks, does it even matter? If your both happy continue with the phone calls and emails!! As you get older you realize how important communication really is!!!

Honestly... I had a long distant relationship for 3 and a half years. The only reason we broke up was because we wanted different things in life. It can be hard to be so far apart, but that only causes you to have better communication skills. I would say that if you really care about each other, go for it. Don't let distance discourage love.

Sammi its just my opinion but a long distance relationship usually causes hard feelings, the reason i say that is because if you are only seeing each other 3 or 4 times a year it is to much to expect from either one of you.If it is real and solid then it will be proven

Honestly, only time will tell. How did you meet? Did you both live in Wisconsin at one time and then you moved? How long are you going to be apart? Obviously, long distance relationships can only be sustained for so long. Good luck!

i answered a similar question to someone else, as you say about writing and emailing etc.,these things are all great but sooner or later one of you will have to move to have your relationship last,if not ,some where along the way it won't, i had one from east coast to west for a year and half, she moved east ,i put her in business and bought her a new home.(it lasted 5 years). she left, and i had to start all over again from scratch.(that's another story) hope all works out for you.

any long distance relationship will be hard.if he feels the same way i would think you and him should try and get together closer.may be not live together at first, but just closer. spend time together and see how it goes.if I was you and I am not. i would let go and find someone closer.i need to be hold and touched.words are ok but being together is my way to go.

long distance relationships are really hard. been there done that. it don't always work out. but if you really love each other then keep doing it. if you are not happy now then stop it. it is really up to you because only you know what's in your heart. do whatever makes you happy and good luck.

long distance relationships are very hurtful. good luck but if both of you really love each other, it will last. i think that 2-4 times a year is DEFINETLY not enough. if i love someone, i want to see them everyday. I NEED to see them everyday. Its too hurtful.

It depends on how old , and mature, you guys are and how long the two of you will be this far away from each other. Just so you know, he will probably cave and cheat on you before you do. It's a man thing.
