does "the best friend" like me?

okay so i was going out with this guy who i fell in love with hard and everything, but he started liking someone else and so now that's over.. and i'm still really depressed about it and all. so anyways, i became friends with the guy i likes best friend... and he was always there for me and comforting me.. one of the few people to help me start feeling better over the whole thing. then he kept texting me like every night afterwards (although it has only been a week)... and he has said all these things like: you are everything i look for in a girl.. and all this stuff... but i thought he was just being nice.. to make me feel better and everything.. but i do not know..? he is just a really good friend, and that's all i think i will ever think of him. and he kindof in a way has told me he "liked" me.. and i have told him i only think of him as a friend.. so he knows. but then today he asked me to go see a movie with him tonight... does this mean anything??!?

but also he has told me about how he likes this other girl who he talks to on the phone all the time with. so i do not know if he really actually likes ME.. or just says stuff like that... because he has said kindof that he likes me in a round about way.. but then is just like.. but you are out of my league and i do not expect anything in return. stuff like that. i do not get it..?

he doesnt like you . he loves you!
when he said that you were everything he looked for in a grl,
he meant you were everything to him!
he likes you a lot and if possible you should try to give him a chance and see what happens!!

He does like you. But it sounds like he will not try anything unless you do.
As long as you made it clear that you are just friends, he will not pass that line.
