How do you think religion will evolve.

I would imagine it to head into the direction of eastern paths and all of the deities/spiritual entities with human characteristics will find it's way into the mythology section.

steven m: i don't know how many Pagans still worship either the moon or the Sun. Most 'worship' the symbology behind it. Neo-Paganism is in fact very scientific since it borrows allot from Buddhism, but then ancient Gnostics and some ancient Pagan Religions also had many similarities with Eastern Religions even though they came from completely different areas.

Christian worship will decrease steadily, as it is currently doing within UK. Atheism will/ already has become more militant, placing greater requirement for proof of anything with supernatural implications. Christianity will/is pursuing the illiterate third world nations for Christian recruitment as the `educated` market shrinks. Paganism ( at least the trendy Wiccan, and `safer`nature cults) will increase in popularity and acceptance, more so with the younger portion of secular society. Christianity will fade slowly from modern ,educated, secular countries, but not in this century. Basically put religion feeds on ignorance, knowledge is mental freedom.

religions will have to evolve as we head out into space, new religions will form.

then Christian mythology may become a thing of the past, along with other religions currently preached on this planet

religions that do not evolve with the times will die. how many sun worshipers you know that are looking for more than a suntan, some moon worship still exists relating to pagan beliefs

who knows what religion will be in 1000years

right now american culture seems to be heading toward eastern religions (comcast commercials ask "are you enlightened?", also Yellow Book commerical shows a guy asking an eastern guru for "guidance") the signs are showing already... If you look carefully, you'll notice pagan "sun rays" are in the background of alot of things (itunes, clothing, etc.) America seems to be abondoning its christian roots.

You are right, the religion established by the Messenger of the One True God is a spiritual science. It is far different from superstition or mythology.
A religion which does not show man how to develop physically, intellectually, spiritually, is not religion.

Not unless somebody radically changes the meaning of "science" to mean "It's written in a book, believe it or else".
