The rule is that less than [whatever the number is] of legal immigrants have to come to the US from a particular country before that country is in the greencard lottery. It would be fair if there weren't so many millions illegally here from a single country, but as it is, it does seem a bit ironic.

I have never understood why Brits can't get into the USA easily, especially as Blair and Bush are bosom buddies. You can hire a lawyer in the states to help you but it's costly, also adverts in The Stage newspaper have ads that help you to get a green card.

the key word is "diversity" as in diversity visa lottery, to encourage the people from countries where there are low numbers migrating to the US i.e. Finland, Sweden, Norway, etc. According to immigration stats you Brits cannot join because there are already high migration volumes from the UK. Other countries unqualified are India, China, Mexico due to high volumes of migration.

As for pooping in the parks I'm not quite sure. Been to UK once and I did see a tramp pooping next to underground station near Trafalgar Square. But that's ok we're still friends, poop or no.

British people are allowed to enter the diversity lottery but only if they are Northern Irish.

Well i guess its just that....because we're British - seems like the whole world just like having a pop at us.

Mind you looking back through our history books we did give them reason to have a go a couple of 100 years lol.

Such is life being British but hey I'm proud and ya never know, one day ya might win our lottery!

Good luck cherub x

It is due to the number of people we already have leaving this country to the U.S.A. The number is in the region of 15,000, per year who leave us on marital, family and business/financial grounds.

That's the problem. We'd be accused of racism or worse for letting in too many people like the majority. It might seem like we are actually trying to prevent becoming the minority as is planned for us.

Really, people, you'd think with all the millions of illegal hispanics here we could afford to let in a decent amount of British folks too.
