ONE of the problems with the effects of alcohol is that it Lowers one's inhibitions. So ... you may start with the Intent of ingesting only a limited amount, but wind up feeling like drinking more, then more, & then a little bit more ... You could easily also wind up pregnant, as the inhibitions lowered are Across the Board. It also Adversley affects judgement. That's why so Many who are under the influence wind up driving at the same time.
A healthy female's liver is Incapable of handling near the amount that a healthy male's is, so they should certainly Never compete-drink! However, there is a LOT more to consider than how much alcohol won't poison you Immediately.
My uncle was killed by someone who had been having a 'good time' with friends, decided to drive himself home, went thru a stop sign & smack dab into my Uncle (who was simply driving home after work). 'Fortunately', he died instantly :( His son had died a few months previous, so his wife was left all alone ...
Besides how it affects one's judgement & behavior -- as you have noted, there Is reason for Concern on other levels.
I'm posting links to some articles that can help you consider them:

Instead of drinking, why not consider the articles above together? There's really Nothing wrong with abstaining forever, if one wants. Actually, there's a Lot to be Gained by doing so! And, It sounds to me like you're feeling Pressured to drink. ANY time someone encourages one to do something for fun that they feel uncomfortable with, that is Not love. Love is Patient and Longsuffering, & protects te other person's interest.
I have been over the legal age to drink for years, but I have Chosen not to.
Besides the Many Dangers involved in drinking, there are Much Healthier options for relaxing & Truly enjoying life -- WITHOUT the troubles often stemming from alcohol use.
My Sincerest Concern ...

Relax! People drink because they want to chill and have a good time. If you're buying bottled drinks then Smirnoffs will be fine but you may have to drink 5 or 6 to get a buzz. If you want to get wasted quickly I recommend doing shots (you won't go wrong with a good bottle of Tequila).
A good time to stop drinking is when your head starts to feel heavy and your body feels warm. At that point you are "buzzed" and experiencing the best part of drinking. You can keep going after that but you could end up with a really bad hangover (plus you puke a lot).
Just take it slow, if your stomach starts to hurt then stop and drink some water. Have fun!

You have to continue drinking past being drunk in order to get alcohol poisoning. If you're not even intending to get drunk, it shouldn't be a problem. That said... I'm assuming your bf is over 21. Do keep in mind that you could be getting him in BIG trouble by allowing him to provide you alcohol. Yes, you're being safe by staying in a hotel... but still. If someone saw you and felt like reporting you, your bf could be arrested and thrown in jail for providing you alcohol. (For the record, I think the legal drinking age should be 18. I think it's really dumb that a person can go die for their country but not have a beer first)
You sound awfully worried about this. Drinking is not something you should DO if you're concerned about it. Also, keep in mind that "stuff happens" when ya drink. You've probably already had sex with your bf... but in case you haven't... it's something to keep in mind. It would suck to wind up regretting it in the morning.

WOW! you really sound nervous, and if you are that nervous don't do it. you don't have to be drunk to enjoy the day with your bf. just wait until your ready, because you really don't sound like you are. alcohol poisoning is NO JOKE. alcohol is not going anywhere so when you are 100% ready try then, but not now.

If your scared to try it, then that tells you right there, that it's not a good thing to do. Educate yourself more b4 you try it. It's not a great feeling after the fact, if you take in to much, and sometimes, you can't stop yourself once you start. Don't rush it!
