My dishwasher is a New Zealand spec, LG brand, model "LD14AT3". It works fine up until about halfway through the cycle, then stops and displays "/ E" in the LCD. What does this mean? "Error"? Does anyone know what to do to convince it to continue running then?

Page 18 of your owners manual shows you what the error codes mean. Your error means Intake Error - Water is not supplied (water tap is not opened).

This model dishwasher has been plagued by many reliability problems judging by online reviews. I'd call LG and make sure that your build (as judged by the serial number) has had any recalls on it as others have. If not, and your water supply to the dishwasher is okay then you're going to have to get it repaired.
