I have 3 kids, and NO, at least in my case, so i guess is not a rule. But my first one was 23 1/2 hours so it was a looooooonnnggg delivery. The other ones were about the same time, actually the second was faster, about 6 hours and the third one about 8 hours. But then i have a friend that delivered so quickly the first one, she got to the hospital and they told her not to push, so they could put the iv, so it was about an hour from start to beginning, but the second one, she almost didn't make it to the hospital, her husband drooped her in the emergency door to the nurses, he went to park the car and when he got there she was breastfeeding the baby an this time there was no time for iv. So you will never know for sure, but hope for it to be faster!!
Good luck

All pregnancies are different and all women are different. I have four children and each birth was unlike the others. #3 was pretty fast and easy and she was 10lbs and 1oz. I think because a woman has two prior births that her body is already stretched in the right places so that the third seems easier. I am sure you are getting tons of advice, but the fact is, none of us are you, no one has your body, your hips and your baby....so, come back after you have this 3rd one and let us know if it was any easier!
