I think nations are a pretty crappy idea that have caused a lot of problems. But frankly I think humans will always find a way to categorise people in 'us' and 'them'.
It makes one almost hope aliens are real, maybe contact with outside intelligence would shift the us and them issue.

Nope - Humans are the main barrier for a multiracial happy society. Way too many of us live our lives as if we are the center of the universe and selfishly push others down to help convince ourselves that it is true.

I don't think so...If you listen to people, you will find that there are atheists who are prejudiced also. It is not a characteristic that is exclusive of those who follow religion.
