Okay so tonight I'm going to the skating rink with a few friends and my BF, Chis. Last friday I got to couple skate with Chris. Thanks to my best friend Brittany, she got him undistracted from his friend Luke so we got to. But tonight Brittany will be with someone else and I really really really want to couple skate with Chris. I'm kinda nervous around him asking him that kind of stuff, and he doesn't want to look like a loser in front of all his little friends, which I understand. But when the time comes, how do I ask him if he wants to skate without freaking him out and if his friends are standing around I don't want to be embarassed in front of them. Help!

Maybe if you either get him away from his friends (watch him - he's gotta head for the bathroom sometime or a drink) and ask them there or walk right up with confidence and just say, "HEY! You wanna skate? No need to explain - he'll see what kind of 'skate' it is. He'll either say 'yes' or 'no'. Don't be mad at him if he says no. Just look at him with a smile and say, 'That's cool.' and walk away. If you get all scared or teary-eyed - his friends will feed on that. But of course if he was any kind of a boyfriend he would tell his friends - to can it!! Good luck!

Pull him aside ahead of time and ask him. No one will be thinking about the couple skating yet, so you'll be able to catch him by himself without all of his little buddies. Tell him where to come find you when it's time for the couple's-skating.

Why don't you ask him while he's not around his friends? Just say it in joking way like, "Chris, why don't we skate to the next song?" If he acts weird move on to the next guy girl! Good Luck!!

Simple hun, ask him, and make it clear that you mean ONLY him, for a race. This way you get him alone and are able to ask him to skate with you without embarassing him in front of his friends.

why would he be embarrassed? Aren't you two a couple? If anything, you should not be shy around your boyfriend.
Just tell him ahead of time if it really bothers you that you would like to spend some time alone with him during the evening(i.e.: a few round around the rink)
