Okay, so I have gotten myself quite confused by men I am interested in. I never know if they are just "being nice" or flirting with me like they are interested. It's easy to know if some guy is just being polite or cordial etc., but I'm still confused if there's any interest in certain guys who seem to go a little beyond just "hello", "goodbye" and thank you etc. Why is it sooo hard? I guess I shouldn't be trying so hard to figure it out, right? If a man really was interested, I'm sure he'd just make it known, correct?

If a guy is just polite he is a nice guy, if he jokes about going out then thats a flirt. Don't try so hard, you are right if he is really interested than he will let you know and if he doesn't and is shy ask him if he would like to go for lunch or to a movie. If he says no then he is just being polite. Take care Heather

No, not every man will tell you straight up that they like you. If he's a bit shy, he'll just try to be a real gentleman around you. So yes, for some guys it can be a way to flirt.
If a guy is going out of his way to help you and be super polite, then he's just an old fashioned romantic and wants to show you he cares without being pushy. So if, like you said, it's more than a simple "thank you", etc., then he probably likes you.

Not always. The best idea would be for you to try something subtle. Like if he were to mention a place that you would like to go you should jokingly ask "You wanna take me there Friday night?" and then see his reaction. If he doesn't respond the way you had hoped, start laughing and say "I'm joking, I'm joking." Hopefully this or something like this can help you to determine if he is interested in you like that.

Well, I would say that
1. Yes, guys will let you know if they're interested and have no problem with admitting it.
2. You could always ask (in that playful way that we females are capable of asking things) if the guy is flirting with you.
