Put an ad in the paper. Who knows, there may be someone looking for a stud. If you find one you can usually strike up a deal like the male's owner gets first pick of the litter or you can agree on monetary deal. Toledo's a big place - I'm sure you'll get an answer without having to travel.

You don't, he's still too young (not that he couldn't do it if given half a chance). But think about it, they say that 1 dog year is equivilant to 7 human years....would you let your 7 year old son have sex?
Seriously, you should wait until he's atleast two before studding him out and then, you should be asking this question to someone from a reputable kennel club, not here on here on Yahoo! Answers.
You say you are willing to travel 100 miles to breed him, but are you willing to spend 100 hours researching potential bitches backgrounds to ensure that the one you choose to couple with him is in clean health with no known genetic defects? If not, then don't waste the drive...there are enough unwanted dogs, we don't need for you to add to the problem.

I actually have a pit mixture, usually pit, and she or he's my 0.33 dogs. She is that this variety of satisfaction and loves her 2 "sisters". on the beginning up the eldest did no longer take to her yet now they look out for another. the three of them are tight. Very heavily bonded. Any domestic dog might have a bent to be aggressive or pushy and in case you spot that habit on your pit domestic dog get her some training. If something that chihuahua ought to be the bully. lol. i'm particular you be attentive to how assertive a chihuahua may well be. i does no longer see her as plausible in any respect. maximum possibly the pit will try to play together with her somewhat tough and the chihuahua will rapidly placed her into her place because of the fact the hot youngster on the block. i might like to hearken to the way it is going.

Kudos to Off to Mexico. Listen to her. She knows what she's talking about. Breeders are experts in genetics, breeding for temperament, health, etc. Backyard breeding is irresponsible and contributes to the homeless pet overpopulation. Neuter your dog. It's best for his health and for the benefit of all the shelter chihuahuas looking for permanent homes.

Is your male a show champion? If so, why hasn't anyone from the dog show world expressed interest? If he's not a show champion, then he shouldn't be bred. He probably isn't from a good breeder as no good breeder sells a dog to a non-shower without a spay & neuter contract. So, this means that your dog is probably only pet quality. This means he should not be bred. It doesn't mean that he's not a great pet, it just means that there is no reason to breed him. "Champion Bloodlines" and "AKC" mean nothing.

Has your male gone through his health screenings? Meaning heart, eye, patella, vision and hearing screenings? Has he been certified clean? Have at least 3 generations of his bloodline been checked and come up as congential disease free? This is recommend by the Chihuahua Club of America - the breed club that sets the standard for your breed. http://www.chihuahuaclubofamerica.com/merstat.htm

So many Chis come up for rescue and end up in pounds - why would you want to contribute to this? The only person who is going to want to breed their dog with a non-champion non-health screened dog is an unethical breeder who doesn't follow the AKC or the CCA guidelines. These are the reasons so many Chis end up in shelters. Are you comfortable contributing to that?
